Sunset after rain is a musical “time-lapse”, compressing the slow transition of an evening storm from sunset to nighttime into just a few minutes. The free-flowing nature of the introduction and falling gestures in the first metered section suggest the presence of rain, which is followed by the calm of twilight as the storm dissipates. Finally, as the last light of sundown fades away, the night comes alive in a shimmering, fast-paced coda.
