Out of Time

Out of Time is a short suite for solo alto saxophone written as part of the “Going Viral” virtual new music festival held in summer 2020.

The title is a play on words in two ways—the piece is written with no meter and is played “out of time”, but each of the four movements (About Time, Spare Time, Lost Time, and Time Flies) is quite short and reaches its conclusion quickly, as if it is running out of time to get to the end of its idea before moving on to the next.
